Manage your profile, follow other users, earn XP, unlock achievements, and control your account settings.
Your public profile
Every user has a public profile page at /profile/username/. It shows your avatar, display name, bio, follower and following counts, and all your public events with live tickers.
Editing your profile
- Click your username in the navigation to open the account menu.
- Click My Profile, then click Edit profile.
- Update your display name, bio, or profile picture, then click Save.
Following users
Follow another user to see their new public events in your dashboard feed. Open any user's profile page and click Follow. Click Unfollow to stop following them. Your dashboard shows events from people you follow under From people I follow.
Dashboard
Your dashboard is your personal home page. It shows:
- My Events — all events you have created, with live tickers.
- From people I follow — recent public events from users you follow.
- Events I'm following — individual public events you have followed directly.
XP (experience points)
XP is earned automatically as you use elapso:

Your total XP determines your position on the Leaderboard.
Streaks
A streak counts how many consecutive days you have been active on elapso (created an event, posted a comment, or interacted with an event). Your current streak and your longest streak ever are shown on your profile page.
Achievements
Achievements are badges awarded automatically when you reach certain milestones:

| First event | Create your first event. |
| Prolific | Create 10 events. |
| Time traveler | Create events in 3 or more different categories. |
| Early bird | Create a countdown event with a date more than one year in the future. |
| First comment | Post your first comment on any event. |
| Commenter | Post 10 comments in total. |
| Century | One of your events reaches 100 followers. |
| Trendsetter | One of your events appears in the trending list. |
| On fire | Maintain a 7-day activity streak. |
| Witnessed | Be actively following a countdown event when its date passes. |
Your progress toward each achievement is shown on your profile page.
Account settings
Go to Settings in the account menu to:
- Change your email address or password.
- Set your preferred language.
- Manage notification preferences — choose which activities (comments, replies, folder shares, time capsules, new events from people you follow) send you an in-app notification and email.
Exporting your data
You can download a copy of all your data (events, comments, profile information) at any time. Go to Settings and click Export my data. A JSON file is generated and downloaded to your device.
Deleting your account
Go to Settings and click Delete account. You will be asked to confirm. Account deletion is permanent: your profile, events, comments, and all associated data are removed immediately and cannot be recovered.
